A coupled electrochemomechanical model for the cycling of a Cu15Si<mml:math xmlns:mml="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" display="inline" id="d1e1095" altimg="si3.svg"><mml:msub><mml:mrow /><mml:mrow><mml:mn>4</mml:mn></mml:mrow></mml:msub></mml:math>-hosted silicon nanowire

In this paper, we present and analyse a coupled electrochemomechanical model for the cycling of nanowire composed amorphous Si coated on Cu15Si4, using large-deformation theory. This study is motivated by recent novel design anode current collector in lithium-ion battery, modelling efforts are linked to half-cell experiments at three different charging rates (C/10,C/2,2C). The predicts that buckling should occur first cycle, agrees with appearance fracturing corresponding transmission electron microscopy image. addition, some new behaviours were not discussed earlier models similar type; among these possibility electrode may locally reach full charge its interior, rather than outer surface.
